Two days ago I contacted you about plans for precautions in this time of COVID-19. Since then the Executive Leadership Team, Council, and I have been in contact with the Synod Office, colleagues, and neighboring congregations. As you know, this situation is changing rapidly.
We’ve made the decision to cancel worship and all in person meetings for the next two weeks for the safety of the community. We did not come to this decision lightly because we cherish our living community of Christ. Its precisely because we value the community of Trinity that we take this action. We desire to keep the most susceptible among us safe.
You can still worship with us online. Every Sunday, I will have a service of scripture readings, prayers, and a reflection available at https://www.youtube.com/trinityfort.
Here are other ways we’ll keep in touch:
- Common Prayer Time: At 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day, please stop and pray. Know that the community of Trinity prays with you.
- Phone Calls: Please call the people you sit by during worship. Our connection to each other matters.
- Contact the church by phone (920) 563-4145 or by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com with prayer concerns.
- Contact the church, if you can help others by running an errands, if you’re willing to make phone calls to those most at risk, OR if you need help.
Please mail your offering to the church so that we continue to pay bills and staff. To give online text “Give” to (855) 982-2124. Or download the Tithe.ly for ELCA app in the playstore.
Stay tuned for more information and communication. In the meantime, please pray with me:
Holy God, we thank you for your dear Son. We pray for calm in this time of uncertainty. We lift before you the sick among us, healthcare workers, and those suddenly staying at home. Keep us gentle in our words, strong in our love of neighbor, and everyone close to you. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
