A Message from Julie

I recently took a moment to share with Pastor Amy about how I was adjusting to my new role as the Director of Visitation for Trinity. She asked me to share with you also.

It has been an exciting time for me now that I am beginning to make in-person visits.

Prior to being vaccinated, I was using the church phone to stay in touch with our members who are on Trinity’s visitation list. These calls served the purpose of keeping in touch, but they did not provide the deeper connection vital to this ministry. I can feel connections beginning to develop with in-person visits. The Visitation Ministry has taken on a whole new depth for me.

Romans 12:15-16 has provided me with guidance as I begin this work for Trinity, “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another; give yourselves to humble tasks for God.”

I am humbled to be an ear for God as I listen to people’s stories. I have been amazed at the easy, long conversations I have had with people who barely know me. In many cases it feels like getting together with a family member I have not seen in a long time and we have winding conversations that include happy and sad moments. Tears have been shed, jokes have been told, concerns have been shared. Scripture is read, prayers are offered, and communion is shared. I believe all these connections help keep us grounded in our faith that God cares for each of us as individuals, and that God cares for all people in all stages of life.

If you know of someone who would like to be added to Trinity’s visitation list, please call the church office at 920-563-4145. Thank you for entrusting me with this ministry.

Updated Mask Policy

Beginning June 20, per the CDC guidelines, Trinity will be moving from “Masks Required” to “Masks Recommended” for those who are fully vaccinated. Masks remain a good, safe option for anyone who wishes to wear one. If you see people are wearing masks, please be respectful of their choice.

Masks are not required for outdoor events, such as Praise in the Park.
Because there are still those in the church who do not have the opportunity to be vaccinated, we lovingly ask that you continue to socially distance the recommended 3 feet.

LWR Projects

As a congregation we will be collecting bars of soap for Lutheran World Relief the month of May and June. The bars of soap may be dropped off at drive-thru communion or at the church office. There will be a basket that will be provided for the soap.

We will also be collecting School Kits and Personal Care Kits to send to LWR, too. Our deadline for these projects will be Sept. 12 as these boxed kits need to be in Madison on Sept. 18.

There will be a list of needed items for the School Kits and Personal Care Kits in the Tidings as well as available at the church office and drive-thru communion.

Ruth Circle

It has been a year of challenges and changes, trying to find our way back to gathering as people of faith. Ruth Circle would like to invite anyone who would be interested in joining us for Bible Study starting on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. in the Hearth Room.

We will follow the guidelines set by the CDC and Trinity Church. We will also make available the study guide for our Bible Study.

We look forward to gathering again to study and being together.

Hope that you would consider joining us in September. Any questions you may contact Stephanie Beran at sfberan@charter.net or her cell phone 920-723-4867.

It’s Back!

Quarters can make a differenceThe Quarters Can Make a Difference container has returned to grace the Trinity Lutheran decor! It will be out for worship on Thursdays and Sundays, and available to receive donations at drive-thru communion as well.

Your quarters are so important this year. The pandemic has hit Guatemala hard, shutting things down and keeping people from working. Of course, this has impacted the poor people most. As things reopen, scholarships to the UPAVIM K-8 school are more vital than ever. Please donate your loose change or a few extra dollars to the jar every time you visit Trinity.

Thank you for caring.
