A Message from Pastor Madeline
Thank you for the warm welcome to Trinity and the surrounding community. In a short amount of time, we’ve enjoyed multiple worship services, Sunday School, planning meetings, and a profound sense of belonging.
I’m already serving as your pastor, and I’m also excited to be officially Ordained on Saturday, April 2 at 2 p.m. This event will include a worship service and Ordination ceremony presided over by Bishop Joy Mortensen-Wiebe, witnessed by in-person and online community, based in the sanctuary of Boe Memorial Chapel at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. If you want, you can sign up for the in-person event or online livestream at madelineburbank.com/rsvp and you will be connected to event updates. There will also be an Installation service here at Trinity later this spring, so stay tuned for details, and know how grateful I am for every moment of celebration and proclamation of how God called me to be here with you.
This year, Lenten worship features powerful tree imagery, and it inspires me to think about my new ministry in similar terms. At Trinity, there are deep roots and reaching branches, in addition to the buds of new growth in the thawing dawn. At UWW, campus ministry is still a baby sapling, but if we could only glimpse the network of roots sprawling out, we’d find there is already more beneath the surface.
If you have ideas for ministry programming, or would like to schedule a 1-on-1 for pastoral care, please call or email, and keep saying hello in person!
In peace,
Pastor Madeline

Pastor Madeline’s Ordination
Trinity Lutheran Church is invited to celebrate Madeline’s Ordination as a pastor to the Ministry of Word & Sacrament!
RSVP: madelineburbank.com/RSVP
This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate in-person or online with people who have shaped and witnessed this faith journey, including music, worship, and ordination rites presided by Bishop Joy Mortensen-Wiebe. Pastor Madeline is from the Twin Cities area, and prepared for ministry at St. Olaf College, Luther Seminary, All Saints Lutheran Church of Cottage Grove, Minnesota and Mayo Clinic of Rochester, Minnesota, in addition to her virtual church community of Mt. Carmel in Portland, Oregon and hybrid experience as a pastoral intern at Hope Lutheran Church and serving Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Maryland. Masks and up-to-date COVID vaccinations are currently required for this event at St. Olaf College, 4/2 at 2 p.m., and the livestream link will be shared closer to the event. Pastor Madeline is happy to answer any questions, and when you RSVP online, you’ll get automatic updates about event details!
Join in the Jubilee on Palm Sunday
As if Palm Sunday wasn’t enough reason to celebrate, we’re inviting you to join together on Sunday, April 10, for a Celebration of Service Jubilee! We plan to rejoice in the time, talents and contributions of our congregation to our church and to our community.
At 9 a.m., join us for a special worship service featuring music, skits and recognition of our wonderful volunteers, followed by fun and fellowship in Fellowship Hall.
We want to celebrate YOUR gifts, so we invite you to bring in arts, crafts, woodwork and other items that you would like to share for display around the church. Items can be brought in that morning prior to service or up to two weeks beforehand.
Have a talent you’d be willing to demonstrate to others – knitting, quilting, carving, painting, playing spoons(?) – let us know and we’ll be happy to set aside space for you to share your gift with others. Have favorite games you like to play or other fun activities for the kids? Bring them along so Trinity’s youth can participate in the fun! Signups are across from the hearth room.
And it goes without saying – calling all COOKS and BAKERS to share your delicious gifts. Bring your specialty dish or a favorite treat to help our taste buds celebrate, as well! Signups are across from the hearth room.
Hiking/Fellowship Event
Saturday, April 9 at 11:00 am, meet at the Dorothy Carnes Park East parking lot on Jones Lane just off of Banker Road, north of Fort Atkinson.
At the entrance, visitors will notice a log cabin restoration project in progress along with multiple farmstead buildings. There are groomed trails with restroom facilities. This is also the trailhead for two walk-in, rustic camping sites. Existing Facilities – Parking lot, trails, shelter, electricity, hand pump, picnic tables, restrooms, benches, observation deck, woods, prairie, grassland and wetland.
Bring a water bottle, trekking poles or walking stick if you have/want them, snacks in case you need an energy pickup, jacket/dress in layers, hat, gloves and/or sunglasses.
We’ll be hiking about 2-3 miles in the 514 acre conservation park.
Any questions, please contact Aurelio at callopeAnD86@gmail.com or 262-490-4923.
Visitation Ministry
The Visitation Ministry is one of many service opportunities volunteers may participate in at Trinity. I strive to bring communion to the members on my visitation list about once a month. Some of the members on my list are very social and would enjoy an additional visit either by phone or in person.
If you would like to learn more about this ministry opportunity, please contact me either by email: julievtlc@yahoo.com or by phoning the church at 920-563-4145 ex. 4.
Fellowship Event at Fireside Theatre
We have reserved a group of tickets at the Fireside Theatre to see The Church Basement Ladies in “A Mighty Fortress is Our Basement” on May 15, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. Contact the church office to reserve your spot and to ensure you get the group rate ($70.95/ticket). All payments need to be made to Trinity Lutheran Church by the end of April.
STAR is looking for more members!
Just 1 requirement: wanting to work and play with fellow members to do good for our church community, our neighbors in need, and to share God’s Love.
