A Message from Pastor Amy

Pastor Amy WaelchliI hope you will join us on Jan. 30 for our annual meeting because this won’t be business as usual. We’re going to vote on a candidate to join us here as a part-time Associate Pastor! As you know from the diligent work of the Call Committee, this call is focused on children and family ministry at Trinity and on campus ministry at UWW in conjunction with the Episcopal Church.

When the TLC Preschool was closed, Trinity’s focus on young children and families changed. This call is designed to create, sustain, and grow relationships with children and parents while fostering intergenerational relationships among us as a community.

Although our worship attendance is smaller than in years past, Trinity remains a large and diverse community that requires the time, care, and attention of more than one Pastor. I admit that for along time, after my previous experience with pastoral colleagues, I was hesitant to work with someone. But working with Pastor Dan changed that. While his ministry here was just 10 hours a week, it was life changing for me. Working with Pastor Dan, I saw a Pastoral colleague who was emotionally, mentally, and spiritually healthy and who put effort into maintaining that. Pastor Dan trusted me and I learned that I could trust him with the most important part of my call to Trinity:YOU.

After reading this candidate’s paperwork and interviewing with her last week, I’m thankful and relieved to share that she is a person who is interested in being your Pastor. Her heart is open to loving and leading. I didn’t realize how protective I feel of you, after all we’ve been through together, until I was with another Pastoral leader who understands their call from God the same way I understand mine. First that was Pastor Dan. Now it is Madeline Burbank.

On behalf of the Call Committee, Candidate, Council, and myself, we want you to “meet” Madeline before the vote on Jan. 30. Below you’ll see the bio she wrote to introduce herself to you. The Call Committee, Staff, and partners at the Episcopal Church and University are all unanimous in their recommendation of Madeline!

Remember, we will be meeting this Sunday (Jan. 23) after 9 a.m. worship for conversation about the proposed annual budget and any other concerns. Then on Jan. 30 after 9 a.m. worship we will have our annual meeting.

With joy,
Pastor Amy
