A Message from Pastor Amy
On Sunday, Feb. 27, you voted to extend a call to a Part Time Associate Pastor! The candidate accepted! Pastor Madeline will begin her ministry with Trinity on Sunday, March 13! There remain endless details to work out including her ordination. That is tentatively set for Saturday, April 2 in Northfield, Minnesota, at her alma mater, St. Olaf College. Invitations will follow, including live stream details. As your Pastor, I am proud of you, of us. Together we’ve endured many hard things the last four years. From the time I suddenly became the only Pastor at Trinity, through hiring Pastor Dan for a limited role, to dreaming up a new position of Part Time Associate, I’m proud of the work we’ve done. I’m especially thankful for the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes the Spirit gives us a nudge. Sometimes the Spirit needs to push us into new paths. Thank you for faithfully listening to the call God has set before us. How will we reengage our youngest members and families? How will we serve our Fort Atkinson neighbors? How will we organize this congregation? Its people? Finances? Volunteers? Students? Home bound members? How will we do all this? TOGETHER BY THE LEADING OF THE SPIRIT. With dedicated leadership of Church Council and Staff, we’re working hard to answer these questions and more.
Thank you for investing your energy and resources in more staffing. This position is unique to Trinity because it is part-time, meaning Pastor Madeline won’t be at every Sunday service. It’s unique because of the dual role for Campus Ministry at UW-W, meaning we’ll get to build new relationships outside of Trinity. It’s unique because, after loss and a pandemic, we’ve been recreated by the Holy Spirit to respond to a new time in new ways.
There is a lot of work to do, but I’M EXCITED! Thank you all for praying, listening, voting, taking surveys, asking questions, and showing up to be the church online and in person. Thank you to the call committee for your faithful work: Rich Vurva, chair; Tammy Hedrick, secretary; Chuck Frandsen, Anders Clarksen, Lorrie Godfrey, and Maggie Messler. Thank you to Pastor Madeline for faithfully preparing for ministry in Christ’s church without knowing where she’d end up, but trusting in the call of the Holy Spirit!
In deep gratitude,
Pastor Amy

Join in the Jubilee on Palm Sunday
As if Palm Sunday wasn’t enough reason to celebrate, we’re inviting you to join together on Sunday, April 10, for a Celebration of Service Jubilee! We plan to rejoice in the time, talents and contributions of our congregation to our church and to our community.
At 9 a.m., join us for a special worship service featuring music, skits and recognition of our wonderful volunteers, followed by fun and fellowship in Fellowship Hall.
We want to celebrate YOUR gifts, so we invite you to bring in arts, crafts, woodwork and other items that you would like to share for display around the church. Items can be brought in that morning prior to service or up to two weeks beforehand.
Have a talent you’d be willing to demonstrate to others – knitting, quilting, carving, painting, playing spoons(?) – let us know and we’ll be happy to set aside space for you to share your gift with others. Have favorite games you like to play or other fun activities for the kids? Bring them along so Trinity’s youth can participate in the fun!
And it goes without saying – calling all COOKS and BAKERS to share your delicious gifts. Bring your specialty dish or a favorite treat to help our taste buds celebrate, as well!
Hiking/Fellowship Event March 12 @ 11 a.m.
Saturday, March 12, at 11 a.m., meet at the Dorothy Carnes Park West parking lot on Radloff Lane. Dorothy Carnes County Park and Rose Lake State Natural Area.
Dorothy Carnes Park is located on the west, south, and east shores of Rose Lake Marsh, one of the most diverse waterfowl areas in the county. Rose Lake is a shallow, hard water seepage lake surrounded by wetlands, oak openings, and steep hills that provide fantastic views of the lake. Ducks, shorebirds and American White Pelicans use the site. Prairie, savanna and wetland habitats being restored attract additional grassland birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Two miles of trails, an effigy mound and accessible viewing platform give good access to the best parts of this Jefferson County Park.
Directions: From Fort Atkinson, go west 1.2 miles on Hwy 12, then north .6 miles on Radloff Lane, then east to the parking area. There are restroom facilities at the parking lot. Existing Facilities – Parking lot, trails, shelter, electricity, hand pump, picnic tables, restrooms, benches, observation deck, woods, prairie, grassland and wetland. Bring a water bottle, trekking poles or walking stick if you have/want them, snacks in case you need an energy pickup, jacket (dress in layers), hat and/or sunglasses.
We’ll be hiking about 3-4 miles in the 514 acre conservation park. It consists of 198 acres of prairie, 108 acres of Oak Savannah, 76 acres of agricultural land and 90 acres of wetland. The park surrounds Rose Lake marsh, one of the most diverse bird areas in the county. 480 of the 514 acres is also designated as the Rose Lake State Natural Area, due to its outstanding examples of native natural communities, significant geological formations and archaeological sites.

Visitation Ministry
The Visitation Ministry is one of many service opportunities volunteers may participate in at Trinity. I strive to bring communion to the members on my visitation list about once a month. Some of the members on my list are very social and would enjoy an additional visit either by phone or in person.
If you would like to learn more about this ministry opportunity, please contact me either by email: julievtlc@yahoo.com or by phoning the church at 920-563-4145 ex. 4.
Fellowship Event at Fireside Theatre
We have reserved a group of tickets at the Fireside Theatre to see The Church Basement Ladies in “A Mighty Fortress is Our Basement” on May 15, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. Contact the church office to reserve your spot and to ensure you get the group rate ($70.95/ticket). All payments need to be made to Trinity Lutheran Church by the end of April.
STAR is looking for more members!
Just 1 requirement: wanting to work and play with fellow members to do good for our church community, our neighbors in need, and to share God’s Love.
