Our Beliefs

We are a loving community of Christ seeking to know, love, and help our neighbors.

We believe in the Triune God–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Christ the Son was born of the virgin Mary, died, and rose again. We believe that all who believe in Christ are saved.

Matthew 22:36-40 (NRSV)

36 “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” 37 He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

Love God

Trinity loves God as we are commanded to do. We affirm our love for God through our weekly worship, scripture-based teachings, and communal study of the Bible. In worship each week we praise God through singing hymns, confession, creeds, prayer, and communion.

Love Others

Trinity loves and accepts all people from all backgrounds. We believe that God created humankind in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). We are an LGBTQ+ friendly congregation that strives to share God’s love throughout the community as we are called to do in Matthew 28:19.

Trinity is a member congregation of the ELCA church. For more information on the beliefs and teachings of the ELCA, we encourage you to visit www.elca.org/Faith/ELCA-Teaching or reach out to Pastor Amy.
