Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
I hope that you are all doing well. As you know, these past few months have been quite different from anything that any of us have ever experienced in our lives. I’ve used this time to play with my kids, read, get projects done around the house, and pray. It’s been nice, but I miss my church family. That’s what this note is about.
The council has been working to find a safe way to get us back to worshiping in person again. A task force was formed that consists of a few council members, and a few members that happened to be interested in helping us figure out this situation. They brainstormed ideas and put together an action plan. Last week, the council and the task force had a “practice run” of how this worship with modifications would be. I can personally say that it was different, but nice. We all wore masks. Instead of hymnals and Bibles everything was projected onto the wall for us to read. We did not sing, but we did pray together out loud and there was some beautiful music played by Mr. Syens. The seating was spaced out and we were given pre-packaged communion while we stayed in our seats. Overall, I thought it was very contemplative, almost meditative, and quite relaxed.
Please keep in mind that it is not in the council’s interest to tell you how you should conduct your lives. As your elected representatives in the church, it is our responsibility to make sure that all of our members, staff, and Pastors feel safe and comfortable within the church building. If you don’t feel safe or comfortable coming back yet, that’s okay. We will still be offering online worship and drive through communion as alternatives. In case you are wondering, Pastor Amy feels comfortable and she is excited at the prospect of getting back to worshiping in person.
The council wanted to send a survey out to everyone to see how you feel about going back to worship, with modifications. Please take a few minutes to fill it out and send it back to us. This way we can get an idea of how many people are interested so we can plan accordingly. Thank you and I hope that we will see one another again soon!
Sincerely,
Eric Lonsdale, Interim Council President
Drive Through Communion: Sunday, 6/28, 9 – 10 am at Trinity!
Communion is a sacred gift to us from God. Jesus commanded that we “do this to remember” him and still serves as the host of this meal. Come. Receive this gift, be strengthened by the love and sacrifice of Jesus, be renewed. To prepare yourself for receiving communion, please worship online with us at 8 am.
Pastor Amy and Pastor Dan will be stationed in the parking lot ready to distribute blessed elements of juice and wafer, the body and blood of Jesus. All you need to do is roll down your window!
- Even with mask and glove precautions, there is some element of risk to t this. If you feel unwell or are hesitant in any way, please stay home. Jesus loves you!
- Enter the church parking lot of Lincoln Street and wrap around the building (arrows). Parking lot attendants will direct you to stations where Pastor Amy and Pastor Dan will pass communion to you through your window.
Please note: the church will be closed and bathrooms unavailable.

We ask that if you feel comfortable shopping for the supplies that you would make a complete kit and bring to the church on drive thru communion Sunday or another day to be announced. Ruth Circle deeply appreciates your help in providing these much needed school kits. It has been a difficult year in every sense for our communities locally nationally and globally.

4-70 country spiral notebooks
1 ruler with centimeters
1 pencil sharpener
1 blunt scissors

Again thank you for help.
